When it comes to aging, “a wrinkle in time” seems appropriate in terms of the time wrinkles and fine lines will appear. Of course, skin aging is natural and inevitable. But while some embrace the character lines and where the smiles have been, others aren’t so open about it.

Unfortunately, there’s no magic pill that will make your skin look young forever, but there are ways and anti-aging products to prevent damage and help fade fine lines and wrinkles. In the spirit of supporting all types of aging skincare choices, we’re here to help you find the best ones to help you turn back the clock.

How does our skin age?

The mainstream media has been telling us for decades that aging is something to be avoided at all costs. But here’s the thing about aging: it’s going to happen. And what’s even more important to remember: it’s completely normal. If you allow it, aging can be a beautiful process. That said, let’s take a look at what happens to our skin as we age.

In our thirsty 20s, collagen production — or the ability of skin cells to renew and repair themselves — begins to gradually slow by about 1% each year. Additionally, collagen and elastin fibers thicken and clump together, causing the skin to sag and sag. The skin’s natural flaking process decreases, leading to faster buildup of dead skin cells.

In our (hopefully) sensitive 30s, our skin’s natural hydration process begins to slow down, causing the skin to thin as fat cells begin to shrink. In midlife, collagen production begins to completely shut down, resulting in fine lines and wrinkles. In your golden fifties, the sebaceous glands shrink, making the skin drier, prone to damage, and more sensitive.

Ok, so where is the “silver” lining in aging skin? You’ve earned those smile lines, and the pull of gravity on our once firm fat deposits and collagen production is to blame for the wrinkles. But there are things you can do to “get it back”.

How do fine lines and wrinkles occur?

When we talk about the aging process, lines and wrinkles usually come to mind. And let’s not forget – although it would be nice – that the natural aging process is undoubtedly a cause of fine lines and wrinkles. But other factors can accelerate it.

Gravity is partially off the hook here when other environmental factors we expose our skin to like cigarette smoke, pollution, sun damage and free radicals are the culprits for frowning and sagging, unhappy skin. .

Sun damage and free radical damage can cause you to age faster and more completely than stress, weight gain or gray hair. Ok, maybe not the gray hair – but that certainly doesn’t help! Your skincare routine, hydration habits, diet, self-care, and lifestyle choices also don’t play well with your dermis if you neglect them. All this in a “skin cell” is nothing that can stop fine lines and wrinkles on the face. The good news is that there are factors we can control.

How to get rid of fine lines and wrinkles?

If we could dive into the fountain of youth, we imagine it would have many out-of-this-world anti-aging benefits. But until we get our VIP access to this mythical fountain, we’ll thank our lucky stars for a few ingredients that provide youth-boosting benefits. Let’s look at some questions and answers with these skin care A-listers for a firmer, more youthful complexion.

#1 Does moisturizer remove wrinkles?

The short answer is no, BUT not using moisturizer is like turning down a glass of water on a hot day. Speaking of H2O, not adding a natural facial moisturizer to your skincare routine means you’re letting precious moisture and moisture leak out of the skin.

Moisturizers are emollients, which means they absorb and lock in moisture and hydration in the skin, which is essential in preventing dry skin and the onslaught or exasperation of fine lines and wrinkles.

PRO-TIP: A moisturizer, along with sunscreen, is one of the most essential skincare products to help fight fine lines and wrinkles. No matter your age, be sure to minimize your sun exposure as much as possible and wear sunscreen every day.

#2 Does retinol reduce fine lines and wrinkles?

Before we get to the “fine lines” of this anti-aging superstar, retinol has tons of awesome skin-boosting benefits that, with continued use, diminish the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Retinol stimulates skin cell turnover, which sloughs off dead layers of skin, meaning dull, dry skin can roll out the red carpet for newer, brighter skin.

Retinol also improves collagen production, which keeps our skin plump and juicy so we can look our freshest and most fabulous. The all-star skin gem helps even out skin tone and fade dark spots, giving skin an even, more youthful appearance.

#3 Is rosehip oil effective in reducing wrinkles?

Similar to the behaviors of moisturizers that are effective hydration heroes, rosehip oil has a wide range of benefits, such as its concentration of omega-3 and omega-6 essential fatty acids, which work wonders for hydrate the skin, lock in moisture and strengthen cell walls to prevent water loss.

Rosehip oil is rich in vitamin A, which has been shown to prevent the breakdown of collagen in the body, which is why it is often called “the building block of the skin”. It’s no surprise, then, that rosehip oil can improve skin texture by not only smoothing scars, but also wrinkles and fine lines.

Sticking to a regular natural skincare routine with ingredients like these – along with other anti-aging A-listers – are the best anti-aging skin products to lessen the appearance of blemishes. fine lines, wrinkles, dry skin, and more!

Simple anti-aging routine

While we can’t stop aging, we can incorporate an anti-aging skincare routine that allows us to age gracefully, healthy and confidently. Because when your skin is truly healthy and nourished, your whole view of aging can change. So, let’s get to work on a skin care regimen derived from powerful natural ingredients.

While this is certainly a powerful anti-aging routine, it’s also an “anti-aging” routine, as it minimizes the damaging effects of UV rays and pollution. Your skin suffers from sunburn during the day, so these PM products only work hard when the sun goes down, to repair UV damage and restore skin to its beauty overnight.

Step 1: Serum

Powerful Multi-Vitamin + Antioxidant PM Serum

Advantages:
Helps balance skin tone, even out pigmentation and gently resurface skin damaged by the sun or age.

We’ve included our fan-favorite multivitamin serum to help fight fine lines and wrinkles as well as discoloration caused by the sun and environmental factors. Anti-aging superstars include rose water, retinol, vitamin C and niacinamide, plus a stellar blend of nourishing oils and botanical extracts.

Step 2. Eye Cream

PM Retinol Eye Cream

Advantages:
Promotes collagen production, elasticity and diminishes the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

Retinol PM Eye Cream is gentle enough to use around your eyes, as it’s made with balancing rose water, replenishing vitamin E, and soothing chamomile butter. Vegan retinol, stem cells and peptides encourage cells to renew themselves faster, to diminish the harsh signs of aging around your pretty peepers.

Step 3. Moisturizing

PM Ultra Rich Multi-Vitamin + Antioxidant Treatment

Advantages:
Rejuvenates, plumps and reduces fine lines.

Our PM Ultra Rich Multi-Vitamin + Antioxidant Treatment is another star player – it should be applied after the serum for a healthy glow. It’s made with nourishing ingredients that are packed with vitamins A, C, B3, B5, D, and K2 (phew!) The result is an ultra-rich, corrective moisturizer that treats the dryness and irritation that comes with age and years. of environmental exposure.

Step 4: Neck Cream

Retinol Neck Repair Cream

Advantages:
Repairs the signs of daily damage and fights free radicals.

It’s important to pay some attention to the delicate areas that are most prone to sunspots and sagging like the neck and décolletage. Our retinol neck repair cream combines powerful natural ingredients like hydrolyzed quinoa (for increased skin density), naturally sourced retinol (proven to be most effective against wrinkles) and squalane d olive (for roundness and hydration).

Step 5. Mask

Anti-wrinkle mask

Advantages:
Firms, brightens and reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

The “hide” step is probably our favorite in this nighttime anti-aging routine because it means you can stop and smell the roses (and more importantly, relax). Our anti-wrinkle face mask contains ingredients like retinol (hello, again, my friend), vitamin C, and CoQ10, all of which are major players in restoring your skin’s glow. Hyaluronic acid provides a finishing touch of deep penetrating hydration.

Although the natural aging process is undoubtedly a cause of fine lines and wrinkles, we know that other factors can accelerate it. The good news is that these are factors we can control. Incorporating an anti-aging routine to maintain skin health, while encouraging youthful vibrancy and radiance will allow you to fight pro-aging, i.e. age like a pro.
