FeelZing is an energy patch designed to boost your concentration and give you energy. You can use the neurostimulation device for work, study, sports or any other activity that requires focused effort.
It comes from Thync Global. Founded by a team of neuroscientists, engineers and entrepreneurs, the company has been around for over 10 years now. They are behind a few neurostimulation products, including Thync Edition 1 and Relax Pro. The first saw the light of day in 2015, the second two years later. Both were designed with the aim of helping users achieve a calm and peaceful state.
The original Star Trek-esque device looked like an eye patch, but for your forehead. It worked by connecting to an accompanying app and delivering waveforms to your brain. The second-generation device operated from the back of the neck, using disposable electrodes. Thync Relax Pro used low-level electrical stimulation patterns to relieve stress through gentle nerve stimulation. Both neurostimulation products were successful and had over 10,000 users.
Now, the California-based outfit has moved on to a different product and this one is just as unique. Some five years of preparation, it is nicknamed FeelZing Energy Patch. Simply put, it is a lab-grade neurostimulation device that comes in the form of a silver dollar-sized disposable patch.
FeelZing Energy Patch review: How to use
The beauty of this product is that there is no charging, no smartphone app, no Bluetooth or WiFi connection required. It works entirely on its own. Each patch can be used twice and you can choose between original and extra strength.
A pack of 4 (which is 8 good uses) will cost you $84, a pack of 12 (24 uses) $126 on The FeelZing website. You can use the promo code gadgetsandportables to get 15% off the price. There are also subscription options that will give you an additional discount.
Think of it as a caffeine-free way to boost your focus and energy. The 52 mm patch consists of a non-allergic cotton cover that is based on an intelligent circuit and a hydrogel and flexible base.
I tried both the regular patch and the extra strength patch. The extra strength variant is quite strong, although Thync claims the effects vary from person to person.

Using FeelZing is quite simple. Take the patch out of its box and pull the tab to activate the mechanism inside. Make sure the area behind your ear is clean. You can now peel off the release liner and stick the patch just behind the ear and between the hairline. This area is called the mastoid.
Make sure there is no hair in the way and press the patch lightly to make sure it is in place. The adhesive will hold it in place and leave absolutely no residue when removed. The whole patching process takes less than a minute.

What will follow is a period of stimulation – you will feel a slight tingle with an occasional zing behind the ear. I can only equate it to a small electrical charge – like someone pinching the area behind your ear every few seconds.
You are supposed to wear the patch for about 7 minutes before removing it. The electrical impulses will stop after this period, so there is no need to maintain it any longer.

I wouldn’t rate the experience as pleasant, but I wouldn’t rate it as unpleasant either. That said, the zings of the extra-strength patch may be felt by some to be slightly unpleasant when it’s in place. They can be strong because the waveform is intensified compared to the normal force product. For this reason, I suggest users start with the normal power patch and then upgrade if they find it necessary.
After the 7 minutes have elapsed, remove the patch and put it back on the release liner and leave it in a safe place. This is because you can use it again.
There is a second outer gel coat. To apply the patch a second time, peel off the film and attach it as you did the first time. You can use it the next day, but anything after that and the effect won’t be as strong. Thync says it’s safe to use FeelZing again within 6 hours, but to be safe, they recommend no more than two uses per day.
FeelZing Energy Patch review: does it work?
The important question is: how does FeelZing Energy Patch work? I test a lot of products in my job and some of them have overstated claims. Coming into this review, I have to admit that I didn’t expect FeelZing to have much of an effect. But he did.
After the 7 minute boost period, I generally felt a little tired for a few minutes. Oddly enough, this was accompanied by my racing mind.
What followed was a quiet four hour period where I found myself energized with my sharp mind. You feel good for no apparent reason.
During those few hours, I found myself very productive, jumping from task to task. I have also found that it gives your mood a boost.

Here are two examples.
At 7 a.m. I went for a two-hour tennis match. Back at the office, I applied the patch and felt like I had just woken up – ready to tackle any task that came my way.
In another case, I had an early morning flight which kept me up all night. So I applied the patch at 1am and found myself staying awake with ease. Unexpectedly, I even found myself working on the iPad for an hour while waiting at the airport.
Another thing I’ve noticed is that there isn’t the nasty crash that you would typically get with caffeine or an energy drink once the high wears off. And my sleep was not affected in any way.
FeelZing Energy Patch review: The science behind it
The patch has an anode and cathode electrode that works by delivering “patterned, high frequency, high amplitude electrical stimulation” to nerves in the autonomic nervous system. The autonomic nervous system is the part of the body that regulates important functions such as heart rate, digestion, and breathing.
It does this through the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems. The first is associated with the “fight or flight” mechanism and creates a lot of alertness and focus. It increases blood flow, heart rate and releases adrenaline. Our distant relatives needed it to survive. If you find yourself chased by a tiger, you’ll have to fight the animal or get away with it quickly.
The parasympathetic nervous system, on the other hand, creates calm, lethargic energy by slowing the heart rate. It is the state that rests and recharges the body for future activity.
The patch runs behind the ear in an area that contains important nerve connections to the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems. By stimulating these nerves through the skin and muscle tissue with a specific electrical waveform, the patch helps the autonomic nervous system achieve optimal balance for energy and focus.
Too much sympathetic nervous activity and you will feel stressed and restless. Too much parasympathetic activation and you will feel unmotivated and listless. Balancing the two is key – alert but calm is the sweet spot where you are most productive.
Thync claims that FeelZing is safe and that there are over 30,000 peer-reviewed studies that support the safety of electrical stimulation on the peripheral nervous system. In pre-launch testing, 90% of users reported a positive effect on their energy and focus when using the patch.
FeelZing Energy Patch review: The end result
FeelZing Energy Patch is a unique device. You are unlikely to find anything like this. Stick it behind your ear for 7 minutes and feel the effects that last for hours.
I was a little skeptical at the start of this review, but to my surprise I found that the fix made a significant difference. It helped me focus and gave me a lot of energy without any negative side effects. No chemicals, calories or urgent trips to the bathroom! If you feel tired and ready to take a nap, it will help you wake up.

The feel is different but very effective – you have mental clarity and alertness. As if you woke up from a good night’s sleep but without the morning fog.
FeelZing Energy Patch presents itself as a viable solution if you want to get rid of the caffeine crash and jitters or wean yourself off unhealthy sugary drinks. The energy you will feel is more stable and will last longer. I would suggest the product for study or work – if you just want to get in the zone and get things done.
Check it out on The FeelZing website (use code gadgetsandportables for 15% discount). My suggestion would be to go for the regular strength and evaluate its effect before going for the extra strength patch.
