“Stone Cold” Steve Austin, six-time WWE Champion and 2009 WWE Hall of Famer, has been the subject of much discussion as the greatest professional wrestler of all time. He has been getting a lot more attention on social media recently as he looks in great shape as he prepares for his 58e birthday in December.
The man behind the famous ‘Austin 3:16’ slogan has been kicking off his workout in recent months, and he’s been sharing glimpses of his workouts on Instagram. If you need a few quick circuit sessions or want to train like a wrestling icon, you can try these workouts.
One of Steve Austin’s “RV Workouts” featured a full body circuit that included six sets of each of the following exercises.

- Bodyweight Squats – 10 repetitions
- Shoes – 10 repetitions
- Alternating dumbbell curls – 10 repetitions
- Close grip push-ups – 10 repetitions
Austin then shared the caption that he also did another 100 push-ups and 100 kettlebell swings, all with little or no rest.
The second VR workout was another circuit session, requiring only a seat and a pair of dumbbells.

- Vertical bar with dumbbells – 10 repetitions
- Seated dumbbell press – 10 repetitions
- Stiff Leg Deadlift – 10 repetitions
- Double arm dumbbell row – 10 repetitions
Austin shared that he rested 60 seconds between each of his eight laps. The only equipment that can be seen on camera in these clips are his dumbbells, a kettlebell and a resistance band. Nonetheless, 1996’s King of the Ring proves that it doesn’t take much to get a lot done. Austin also shared on his IG Stories that he uses a SkiErg machine as part of his cardio routine.
The 6ft 2in WWE legend weighed around 250lbs during his career and although he is known for his beer shots, he had an impressive physique. During his active in-ring career, Austin had suffered several knee injuries which caused him to wear suspenders during his matches, and he also suffered a neck injury from a botched piledriver in 1997. Nonetheless, it overcame all of these issues to be one of the biggest box office draws in wrestling history. It’s unclear if these circuits are the only way he trains these days, but given those previous neck and knee injuries, he still does some form of squatting and makes the most of every workout.
The three-time Royal Rumber winner retired from the ring in 2003, but returned this year after a 15-year absence at WrestleMania 38 in a Street Fight match against Kevin Owens, in which Austin was victorious. Many wrestling fans have already speculated that he is gearing up for a return match at WrestleMania 39 in 2023. This event is set to take place in Los Angeles, California. Reports circulated that Austin was offered a match at the big event, but Austin himself had not stated whether those reports were accurate.
