Hair loss is a common aspect and can happen to anyone, most people reading this may have experienced severe hair loss or are still experiencing it, but let’s remember that hair loss is everything completely normal and can happen to anyone.

Gender and age play a major role in hair loss patterns, doctors do not recommend hair transplant treatment to young people as they have time and other alternatives to deal with hair loss. Losing 100 strands of hair a day is completely normal, if you are dealing with more than that, there are still many home remedies to reduce hair loss before taking medication.

People with normal hair loss can try using natural remedies like-

  • Oil and massage the scalp with essential oils
  • Onion juice on the head
  • Eggs in the diet as well as a hair mask

to help stimulate better hair follicles. If not the natural remedies, they can also use drugs like Fin. and Minoxidil which will help control hair loss and rapid hair growth.

Hair Transplant is best suited for people who are reaching a stage of baldness and have tried and tested all the products but have not found a solution. You can face baldness at a young age or at a much older age, either way, a hair transplant is one way to go about it.

Most hair transplants are successful and give great results within 3-4 months, however, you must find a suitable doctor and know all about the procedure before going ahead with it, do your full study on what transplant is of hair and its types then make a wise decision.

Types of hair transplants

There are two basic types of hair transplants-

1) Follicular Unit Transplantation (FUT)

  • This procedure is also known as the strip procedure and involves placing the extracted or fallen out hair follicles on the patient’s scalp. This process requires precision and you should only trust a qualified cosmetic surgeon for the procedure.
  • The surgeon will cut a strip of skin from the back of the head, remove the individual hair follicles and reinsert them into the bald part of the scalp.
  • Local anesthesia will numb your head during the procedure and it can take upwards of 4 hours for this process to occur.

2) Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE)

  • This procedure consists in taking the hairs from the different parts of the patient’s body or even from his scalp, then is placed in the bald part of the scalp noticing where the growth of hair follicles cexceeded.
  • Micro punches are used to extract hair follicles without leaving a trace of extraction. This process may take several sessions involving 2-4 hours, only in rare cases it may take longer.

Hair transplants are not cheap and can cost a fortune, so you will have to save up to do it if you feel there is no alternative for your hair type. The minimum cost of Hair Transplant in India starts from INR Rs. 25,000. Take the suggestions of numerous doctors to know their opinion and see if there are any alternatives to Hair Transplant.

Nothing is easy, although hair transplant results have been shown to be effective, it also has many side effects that most people may not know about, so now let’s talk about some of the side effects.

Hair transplant vs implant

Hair implants and hair transplant surgery are the options that one can choose to get new hair in the thinning areas. However, the processes followed by these two treatments are very different and therefore have different results. Through hair transplantation, a donor area of the scalp is determined from which healthy hair follicles can be extracted. The follicles are then stored in a holding solution for better impact before implanting them into the bald area in a natural pattern. Through hair implant process, experts implant artificial hair in the thinning area, so the difference between real hair and implanted hair in this treatment is distinct. As it can cause skin infections, hair implants are also banned in some countries.

Hair Transplant Side Effects

FUT and FUE may take weeks at a stretch to heal, meanwhile you may face some restrictions and your lifestyle may face many changes during this time, you can’t train, you can’t going out for a few weeks, no hair washing and many other things you will need to follow.

Your doctor may suggest that you make some changes to your lifestyle and diet if you drink alcohol often, then you will need to abstain from it as you will be taking your medications and it may not not suit you. If you are a heavy smoker, you will need to stop smoking as it may interfere with your surgery.

1) You will have to face the Bleeding

You will face bleeding and cuts with FUT or FUE, doctors do their best to make smaller cuts to place the hair follicles, but some cuts can hurt more and cause more bleeding and pain. Many people have sleepless nights after hair transplantation because it is too painful.

2) Scars on the scalp

Well, it’s no surprise because you will have to endure some cuts that will leave permanent scars on your scalp. If you have healthy hair growth after your procedure, your scars may not be visible. The scars will heal over time and they will stop bleeding and hurting and your hair could cover most of them.

3) Can cause infections and pain

Your doctor will make sure that your scalp does not develop any infections after the procedure, but you must take care of your scalp to ensure that it is hygienic and healthy, you cannot wash your hair or comb it for a some time, but your doctor will. tell you what to do and what not to do.

Pain is an unavoidable part of the surgery, however, your doctor will put you on pain medication for a few weeks so you can be comfortable.

4) You may face itching

Itching is also very common during a hair transplant, but you have to resist because you won’t be allowed to scratch your scalp for a long time. Your scalp will be very sensitive after surgery and will require extra care and love, so be sure to follow your doctor’s advice.

5) You may face swelling

The swelling is a crucial part of this procedure. You may feel uncomfortable for days or weeks after the procedure as you may see swelling around your eyes or forehead, but don’t worry, it is temporary and will heal over time.

If you are facing extreme hair loss and you don’t want to opt for a hair transplant, don’t worry, you can opt for medications that will do a good job.

1) Topical Minoxidil Solution

Minoxidil topical solution is a vasodilator that is primarily used to treat male pattern baldness. With this solution in continued use, you can see a difference of 25% more hair growth in just 10-12 weeks. This solution is alcohol-free and can easily be integrated into your daily life.

2) Aileron. Tablets

Fin. the tablets are FDA approved tablets which should only be taken after consulting a doctor. It reduces the hormone called DHT (dihydrotestosterone) in the body, which reduces the size of hair follicles and after a while stops growing hair.

3) Minoxidil and Fin.solution for hair growth

This solution is one of the best solutions one can use for hair fall problems. Continuous use of this solution for 2-3 months can show you visible results but should be used as prescribed by the doctor.

You can buy all of these medications over the counter or from March by GHC website.
