Giloy, or Tinospora cordifolia, is the scientific name of the herb also known as Guduchi in Hindi. The stem of Giloy is valued for its high nutrient and alkaloid content, although the roots and leaves of the plant can also be used in some contexts.

As Charak One of the main bitter-tasting herbs, giloy is mentioned in the shloka Samhita. Besides balancing Vata and Kapha, it helps in the treatment of a wide range of ailments.

Heart-leaved moonseed is another name for the giloy plant, which bears blood-red fruits and has heart-shaped leaves.

Guduchi and Amrita are terms for protection of the whole body in Sanskrit, respectively.

Giloy has always been used to treat:

  • fever
  • urinary problems
  • asthma
  • dysentery
  • diarrhea
  • skin infections
  • Hansen’s disease (formerly called leprosy)
  • Diabetes
  • drop
  • jaundice
  • anorexia

Some advantages of giloy the juices are:

Giloy for relapsing fever

Giloy works well for persistent and recurrent fevers. The anti-inflammatory and antipyretic properties of the plant help you recover quickly from illness. The antipyretic (Javarghana) giloy properties help to lower high body temperatures.

Giloy for dengue fever

A natural antipyretic is giloy. It increases the number of platelets and reduces the complications of dengue fever. Using Giloy steadily increases dengue protection and helps in faster recovery.

Giloy for hay fever

Allergic rhinitis, sometimes known as hay fever, is well treated with giloy. Sneezing, stuffy nose and watery eyes improve.

Increases immunity

This herb boosted a person’s vitality and boosted his immune system. If you want to boost your immune system, try drink a glass of kadha or giloy juice twice a day. It is rich in antioxidants and facilitates the detoxification of the body. Giloy juice has other benefits including purifying the skin. Heart, liver and urinary tract infections are all treated with giloy.

Giloy improves digestion and reduces symptoms including colitis, vomiting, hyperacidity and diarrhea.

How to take giloy juice?

  1. Use two to three tablespoons of Giloy juice.
  2. Add the same volume of water.
  3. Take it once or twice a day, preferably before meals, to boost your immunity.

Best time to consume giloy juice

Giloy juice can be consumed every morning but should not be consumed at night. Giloy tablets or medications are available throughout the day. Giloy juice should be consumed in the morning on an empty stomach for optimal performance.

Can I take giloy every day?

Yes, Giloy can be taken daily. Giloy is beneficial to our health. It keeps all diseases at bay. The advantages of Giloy are:

Boost Immunity – Giloy is a global herb that helps boost the immune system. It is an antioxidant powerhouse that fights free radicals, keeps your cells healthy and prevents disease. Giloy fights bacteria and purifies the blood.

Improved Digestion – Giloy is very beneficial in improving digestion. If you have a digestive problem, drink a cup of giloy every day.

Diabetes – Giloy serves as a hypoglycemic agent and helps in the treatment of diabetes.

Giloy juice works wonders for lowering high blood sugar levels.

You can take it every day, but if you take too much, it can induce a feeling of excessive heat in your body.

Here is the recommended dosage:

  • Giloy Stem Churna 1-3 grams
  • 1ml to 5ml Giloy stem juice
  • 250mg to 1000mg giloy satva
  • 1-3 grams of giloy leaf churna.

Giloy Juice Side Effects

Giloy grass has no negative side effects.

  • However, Giloy may cause hypoglycemia when used with other diabetic tablets.
  • Giloy may increase immune system activity, which may exacerbate signs and symptoms of autoimmune diseases, including rheumatoid arthritis.
  • The impact on nursing mothers is unclear.
  • Giloy should therefore be avoided while breastfeeding to be on the safe side.
